Menda!!! Super big hugs to you!!!  I am so glad you have found a "home" and friends here at the forum and on the FB page.  We have grown quite a bit together and have shared in each other's triumphs and tragedies.  What we share on this site and the FB page, and more importantly on our pages really is an outpouring of what is in our hearts.  We have pages posted that are celebratory in nature and those that help us mend deeply personal pain.  You are NOT alone in any of this... even though we are not there with you in person - we are all on the same journey and trying desperately to figure out how to make the most of it along the way.  I am so ETERNALLY grateful for this job that God has given me - because the way this happened was too strange to be by accident!  He prepared the path for me and the way to connect to those of you who have touched my heart in such a special way.  I have more friends here than I could have ever imagined.  And people who say that real and true friendships cannot be forged online, in communities like this - do NOT know my Suite Chicks!  I am so thankful and blessed by all that you share, all that you learn, and all that you teach me... both about myself and the things that I love to do.

We will continue to grow together and share in this life all that we have with each other, and continue to create the most wonderful treasures and keepsakes for our families... whereever they are.  Some will be in our homes, and some live on only in our hearts, but the memories that we commit to projects, to paper, to our hearts will always be there for us and for those that come after us.

Thank you Menda for sharing your heart... and your genuine LOVE for learning something new!  We are ALL so GLAD you are here!

HUG HUG HUGs to you!

... and don't forget to make a memory today!!

Welcome Emily!  We have a great group here and on FB and really love getting to know each other and sharing our memories through the pages we create.  It is SUCH fun and if you hang around awhile you will surely get some ideas and inspiration - always feel free to share a thought, or ask a question!  We all started as newbies and really love to help each other and encourage each other too!

Welcome!

Suitegal Challenges / Saturday Challenge!
« on: October 16, 2010, 07:05:56 am »
Good morning all!  Looks like it's MY day to come up with the Challenging Challenge!  There have been so many great ones lately that the Suite Gals have been posting that I am finding it challenging to come up with a challenging challenge!   ::)  But, I think I can come up with something!!  For today's challenge you can choose any kind of theme you want, include any elements and papers you like... but ALL the PHOTOGRAPHS must be BLACK & WHITE!  I am such a HUGE fan of black and white photography, so, this one should be fun!  I can't WAIT to see what you come up with!

If you didn't already know this, you can change any photo you have to B&W in MMS - just add the photo to your page and click PHOTO EFFECTS button on that panel.  You can change any photo to black and white!  Remember that photos look great enlarged to cover the page, changed to B&W and faded into the background too!

Please post them here, and show them off on Facebook too!  Let's get everyone seeing things in Black & White today!!

Ready?  Set?  GO!!

... and don't forget to make a memory today!

Hybrid Projects / CD Case/4x6 Case Calendar workshop!
« on: September 30, 2010, 12:48:08 pm »
Wanna impress family and friends with your phenomenal crafting skills???

This fun and easy project can do just that!  The calendars can be created ahead of the holiday rush and put away for gift giving later on!  Make sure you print up an extra one to keep for yourself!

The CD case calendars are created and printed at home - or at a printers - usually two months to an 8.5 x 11" page and trimmed out by hand or with trimming tools to fit standard CD cases that can be special ordered or purchased in a number of different locations.  They work best with the standard cases, and not the "slimline" version.  All the pages store neatly INSIDE the CD case for gift giving and when the cover of the case is flipped open, it creates a cool little display stand for the desk!

The 4x6 case calendars are the same idea, but one step EASIER!  Because they are created in a 4x6 layout/arrangement - you can print them straight to 4x6 photo paper or send them to your favorite photo printing site and you don't even have to trim them out!  I found a great resource for the 4x6 cases and even with printing costs and the case order, you can usually create these for under $5.00 each.

During this new ONLINE workshop - we will work together to get you calendar project started - you will learn enough to get one project finished, and then have the skills to create as many more as you need to make sure everyone on your list gets one!  The great thing is, pages (months) can be mixed and matched so you can create different versions for everyone on your list!

They even make GREAT gifts for that hard-to-buy-for teacher!  Just snap a few photos of kids in class over the next few weeks and you will have everything you need.

I will show you how you can create these easy to make calendars from kits and papers you already have, in addition to showing you how you can use pre-created designs from digital scrapbooking websites for an unlimited variety!

I will host the first CALENDAR WORKSHOP on Saturday, October 2 - from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm (Eastern).  The class will be limited to 15 participants so you must sign up ahead of time to get the link.  We will host the workshop again several times over the next few weeks, so if you can't join us this time, no worries!!  I will try to record it as well, so if you can't catch a workshop, you can still get them done!

There will be several items I would like you to have completed BEFORE the workshop starts - and even if you have beginner level skills with MMS you WILL be able to do this project!

So, please send an email IF you can definitely make the Saturday 10/02/10 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm time and we will see how it goes!

There will be no charge for this workshop and you will receive (as a little "thank-you" for attending) a FREE set of 2011 calendar overlay png's and a little shopping code for the Design Shop.

Please only sign up if you can make the scheduled time - I will post another workshop time later in the week!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Suitegal Challenges / Re: Speedscrap - 9/11/2010
« on: September 11, 2010, 10:03:54 pm »
I promise I did start the challenge with Sarah, I got the solid paper and the patterned paper, then when I went to select my picture, I got all sidetracked doing a page from Emily's (my youngest daughter) and her BFF Holly's baptism day!  It was such a special day and I totally got CARRIED away!  But I was working on it during the challenge time, so I am hoping to get 1/2 a point for that!

Thanks for the great challenge Sarah!  Awesome as always!

We live in Florida, and I am SOOOO ready for a break from the heat this year!  I love to visit the mountains and the beach, so it is just fun to get away.  I really, really LOVE to scrapbook too!  I am working on becoming a better photographer so my pages look even better!

So, welcome to the forum and come back soon!

Meet Our Suitegals / Re: How did you find digital scrapbooking?
« on: July 27, 2010, 02:32:53 pm »
Hi all! I totally fell into digital scrapbooking!  Always been a huge fan of the idea, but NOT of the expense, and mess and "stuff" you needed to continue to buy to keep a traditional scrapbook going and current!  One night, I saw an infomercial for "My Memories Suite" digital scrapbooking software... I ordered it, and the rest is history!  I love keeping up with my projects, and I just *LOVE LOVE LOVE* that it is completely portable on my laptop!! My albums are gorgeous and I looked like a pro from my very first printed project 3 years ago.  I now have a stack of COMPLETED projects to look at and I never run out of goodies at 2:00 am!

I will NEVER go back!

Lisa J. ;)
